Quick Answer: The article passionately argues against abortion, equating it to child sacrifice and murder while criticizing Christians and political parties that support or permit it. It stresses that voting for such parties makes individuals complicit in crimes against God and humanity. It acknowledges the complexities faced by some women but denies murder as a valid choice. Emphasizing a balance of truth and love, the article asserts the importance of extending compassion without condoning sin. Redemptive themes are prominent, highlighting forgiveness through Jesus Christ's sacrifice. The article encourages standing for biblical truth while loving individuals, opposing evil policies, and expanding God’s kingdom through evangelism and social action.
They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons, and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was defiled with the blood. Ps. 106:37-38, NASB
Many of us read verses like this in hypocritical horror. We shake our heads and wonder how any parents or society could murder innocent children, yet we probably kill more children in one day than the Israelites did in a hundred years. Make no mistake, make no excuses: Abortion is cold-blooded murder. It is the modern version of child sacrifice by sadistic people to demons.
I am going to make a statement that most Christians never think about. If a person votes for a political party that actively promotes abortion, euthanasia or the mutilation of confused people, they stand before God charged as accessories to those crimes against God and humanity. This is the defining issue, no matter how much a person may agree with the political party’s other policies.
James 1:27 tells us, “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress…”. This should tell us what God thinks of the “religion” of Christians who support the abuse and murder of the most vulnerable of our society. We have entire church organizations given over accepting this evil. Our nations are falling apart because God will judge the nation that allows its soil to soak up innocent blood.
[Note: In societies like Canada, where every major political party officially supports the murder of children, we must vote for the least militant about it - i.e. the best bad choice - while supporting individual candidates who are pro-life and working for change.]
I know some women are forced or pressured into abortion by husbands, boyfriends, pimps or parents who would rather murder an innocent baby than have their lifestyle or pride damaged. There are times when there are no easy choices, but murder is never a legitimate option.
Does this truth give people a self-righteous, hard and uncompassionate view of those caught in this trap? It can, but that also is a sinful reaction. Truth and Love are not opposites or enemies. They intertwine in perfect unity in the Lord Jesus Christ.
This sin of murder is primarily against God - as every sin is. Our loving heavenly Father stands ready to forgive. No sin is too great for the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross. Our responsibility is to stand for Truth while also extending a compassionate hand to hurting people.
Hiding or downplaying the Truth is not an act of compassion but cruelty. It prevents people from realizing the depth of their sin, realizing that they need a Saviour, repenting of their sins and receiving the forgiveness of Jesus. Only then can they walk free from guilt, shame, and bondage into a glorious new life.
We do not speak the Truth to condemn people, although people who have no desire to change may perceive it that way. We love people in their sin without condoning it [or affirming it!], There is no place for self-righteous judgment. We all stand equally guilty before God for treasonous rebellion against our Creator and rightful Sovereign. We all stand equally in need of repentance and a Saviour and Lord.
We stand for the Truth of God [not our personal standards] while loving individuals and working to expand the Kingdom of God through both evangelism and opposing evil policies, laws, organizations and political parties.
Question: What Does The Bible Say Specifically About Abortion?
Answer: We have an article on that: Abortion: Murder Or Right?
Question: How Should Christians Balance Truth And Love In These Situations?
Answer: Jesus loved hurting people without ever condoning or affirming their sin. He opposed the self-righteous but treated the humble with respect. He required repentance and commitment from those who would follow Him but did not force anyone to make that decision. We must remember that we are all sinners in need of a Saviour. Our sins may be different in our eyes, but they are all equally repulsive in the eyes of God, yet He provided a way of salvation for us.
Question: How Can Christians Effectively Support Vulnerable Individuals Facing Such Decisions?
Answer: Many communities have Christian organizations with counsellors and support staff to help pregnant women make good choices and provide them with knowledge and resources. A few of them are listed in our Resources For The Hurting. Often, these organizations can use our help as volunteers or through financial giving.
Question: In What Ways Can The Church Work To Influence Political Change On These Issues?
Answer: The Church needs to teach the whole Word of God, including what it says about this issue. It can also recommend Godly men and women running for public office who will work toward protecting the vulnerable and innocent.
