God's Word is alive and real. The Bible is not just a history book or a Jewish poetry book or a religious instruction manual or even a love letter. It is the Word of the Living God to you.
"Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you…" [Jer. 1:5, Message]
God is alive and He desires to communicate to you. He doesn't just talk to pastors and other religious leaders. His desire is to have a relationship with YOU. One of the primary ways God speaks is though making the words of the Bible real and relevant to us today. As we read Scripture, He is able to give us understanding and practical insight into Who He is, what He wants, and how to live a successful life. It is important for Christians to study, learn and mediate on the Word of God.
"Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation," [1 Pet. 2:2, Amp.]
"God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God's Word. We can't get away from it—no matter what." [Heb. 4:12-13, Message]
Millions of Christians can testify to receiving encouragement and direction while reading and studying the Bible. It is a dangerous trend in some Christian circles to look on learning Christian doctrine [teaching] as boring or unnecessary. Every Christian who has stood strong in the faith and accomplished great things for God has had a love for and a good knowledge of the Word of God.
The God's Word To You Course is not really a "course." Instead, it seeks to encourage you for an entire year by weekly sending you a personalized Bible verse or scripture selection to your inbox. Be encouraged. Be motivated. Be inspired. Read and mediate on God's Word addressed specifically to you. Again, this is not a course of study just God's Word to you pure and simple.
